Job Description
This position offers a technical leadership role in the X-ray and Computed Tomography Technology business and the opportunity to help shape the future of intelligent, automated and connected NDT equipment. If you are excited about solving complex, multivariate technical and systems challenges across the industrial electronics domain, then this role could be for you.
Design control systems for new robotic X-Ray systems
Design and program PLCs and HMIs
Research and specify electrical components based on project requirements.
Prepare detailed schematics and panel designs.
Provide guidance and mentoring to co-designers on project concepts and engineering practices.
Review system designs for accuracy, cost effectives and collinearity with project requirements and time lines.
Assist engineering manager with project management and scheduling.
Provide technical advice within the department and to customers.
Create electrical designs in accordance with project specific requirements and electrical codes
Prepare detailed bill of materials.
Provide technical assistance to manufacturing during system integration.
Assist with system power up, trouble shooting and programming.
Prepare sequence of operation documentation.
Manage and implement system documentation practices and file structure for electrical engineering.
Conduct qualification testing of new products.
Job Requirements
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within an OEM capital equipment environment
To meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering; an advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
You will have at least 5 years of industry experience in in an electrical automation engineering role with a proven track record of delivering production ready, standards-compliant designs for complex products.
A solid technical and practical knowledge-base in the machine automation sector is essential for this role, including regulatory and manufacturing aspects. Prior experience with capital equipment development in the industrial (or other regulated) environment is preferred. We adhere to CE & UL standards.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure. We will expect you to be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, but also have the initiative to work independently. You should have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. You also must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time, including international travel.
Must have excellent communication skills
Thorough knowledge of AutoCad Electrical
Thorough knowledge of electrical designs and techniques
PLC & HMI experience required
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within an OEM capital equipment environment
Must have knowledge of NEC, NRTL, UL, CSA & CE
