The position:
The Mechanical Engineer will apply engineering principles in the design, documentation, and enhancement of industrial X-ray and CT capital equipment products. This position will work with management to define, maintain, and implement documentation of policies and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering and documentation background.
Responsibilities/Duties
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product management to develop, maintain, and improve products
Manage product costs and apply design for manufacturing value engineering principles directed at product enhancements
Coordinate effective engineering change management and advance communication cross-functionally
Prepare detailed and assembly drawings and administer drafting standards throughout the engineering department
Design, optimize, manage, and monitor system bill of materials
Prepare detailed layout and facilities requirements
Provides technical assistance to manufacturing during system integration
Work in partnership with the research and development team to develop new products and transition to commercialization
Collaborate with the engineering team (including mechanical, electrical, motion control, and software) to develop innovative solutions
Required Qualifications

Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of demonstrated design and documentation ability in a technology-related field
Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
Ability to collaborate with and provide recommendations to other engineers

Ability to present complex technical information to internal and external customers
Experience with all phases of mechanical hardware development & qualification
Experience working on cross functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Software, Manufacturing, Service, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of mechanical principles
Experience with machine design, automation, and robotics
Ability to execute critical process-driven decisions and know when to consult with peers
Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
Experience with optical or x-ray imaging systems a plus!
