Vehicle Description This 1970 Ford Torino GT is a marvelously restored muscle car with fantastic performance options.
If you think back to the origins of a true muscle car, the first muscle cars all shared the same elements-an intermediate sized car paired with a big, high horsepower motor.
By the time the late sixties rolled around, seemingly every American car maker had its own version of a muscle car and for the Ford Motor Company that car was initially the Fairlane.
In 1968, Ford introduced the Fairlane Torino as the top trim level sub-series for the Fairlane and the Torino GT which was considered the sportier version.
When 1970 rolled around, the Torino became its own standalone model and was split off from the Fairlane line.
In the middle of 1970, when the 1970 Torinos were introduced to the public, they had received a major facelift from the previous year with a new-look front end and grille, along with new Coke-Bottle body lines.
Additionally, Ford continued to offer the sportier performance-oriented versions in the Torino GT and the GT Cobra, with the Torino GT SportsRoof Fastbacks selling particularly well.
Torino GTs were outfitted with special hood scoops, emblems, and elevated interior trim, and came with a variety of engine options.
Under the Shaker Hood on this M-Code 1970 Torino GT is a 351 Cubic Inch Cleveland V8 engine paired with single 4 barrel carburetor that was said to have pushed out 300 horsepower in its day.
The 351 Cleveland is backed by a 4 speed manual transmission that makes this classic Ford muscle car an absolute blast to drive and run through the gears.
Power is sent from the 351 Cleveland motor to the rear wheels via a Traction-Lok positraction rear axle that helps ensure that you'll be able to keep the rubber to the pavement when cruising in this gorgeous muscle car.
Exhaust exits the stout Ford powerplant via MagnaFlow dual exhaust setup that gives the car a nice throaty sound.
This '70 Torino GT is also equipped with power front disc brakes, which makes bringing this classic muscle car to a stop much easier.
Riding on a set of raised letter radial tires paired with Magnum 500 wheels, this GT Torino has a great look and even better ride.
The exterior on this Torino GT SportsRoof has been refinished in a beautiful Medium Red paint with black hood decals.
The interior on this 1970 Ford Torino GT is absolutely gorgeous! The front bucket seats and rear bench seat have been reupholstered in black vinyl, giving the car a sportier feel.
The dash, door panels, center console, black carpeting and steering wheel all have a nice look and appear to be in their stock configuration.
The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, 8,000 RPM tachometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, along with an upgraded AM/FM/Cassette entertainment system.
A trifecta of SunPro gauges, including gauges for temperature, volts, and oil pressure, have been tucked neatly under the dash.
Whether you're buying your first classic muscle car or you're adding to your stable of Fords, this 1970 Ford Torino GT SportsRoof would make an excellent choice.
