Vehicle Description This 1949 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck underwent an extensive frame off restoration and is absolutely stunning! In 1948, the Ford Motor Company launched its new body stylings for its truck lines which replaced the aging pre-war designs which were carried forward into 1947.
Additionally, Ford introduced its new truck naming conventions with the debut of the F-Series trucks, the F-1, F-2, etc.
, with the Ford F-Series still going strong today and sitting at the top of the best selling trucks of all time.
When 1949 rolled around, Ford debuted some of its most drastic changes to its passenger car lines since the Model A replaced the Model T, but the truck lines were not completely neglected especially at the heavier-duty end of the truck spectrum.
In 1949, the United States was also in the midst of an economic recession, which likely caused a slowing of light duty truck sales.
