Vehicle Description This 1962 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is a nice running and driving convertible with fantastic curb appeal! In 1962, Chevrolet offered four distinct car lines, the European-inspired compact Corvair, the brand-new American compact Chevy II, the performance-oriented sportscar Corvette, and the full-size passenger car line that seemingly lined the streets of America.
The full-size line consisted of three sub-series including the entry-level Biscayne, the intermediate Bel Air, and the top-of-the-line Impala.
1962 was a major turning point with regards to Chevrolet design, with the GM marque's complete redesign of its full-size passenger car line.
In fact, except for the door panels, all of the sheet metal used on Chevy's full-size cars was completely new and this new design philosophy really took the look of the full-size Chevys from the 50s into the 60s.
